SANDY NELSON | BEVERLY HILLS CA U.S.A.
From the moment Sandy first saw Colin Burn’s work, she was captivated. The detail, the beauty, and the craftsmanship felt unlike anything she had come across before, and she knew right away that more people needed to experience it.
Her path into the art world was not planned, which is probably what makes it so special. Early in her advertising career, she walked into Galerie Michael on Rodeo Drive and met Michael Schwartz, the founder of the gallery. He introduced her to fine art, and she left that day with her first Rembrandt and a feeling she never forgot.
Years later, life brought Sandy back to Galerie Michael in Beverly Hills, where she joined the team and found herself surrounded by incredible Impressionists, Modern Masters, and select contemporary works. One exhibition she will always remember is Bernie Taupin’s. Watching collectors respond to his journey from songwriting with Elton John into fine art showed her how moving it can be when someone’s life story becomes part of the art.
That same feeling came back when she saw Colin’s exhibition. His work was elaborate, intricate, and completely his own. Sandy introduced him to Michael and the gallery team, and they immediately understood why she was so excited. Michael himself spent nearly an entire day with Colin, sharing stories from his days with Salvador Dalí. After Galerie Michael closed during the pandemic and following Michael’s passing, Colin asked Sandy to represent him. She has been proud to do so ever since.
Before art, Sandy spent more than fifteen years in advertising, working in television, radio, and eventually running her own boutique agency. That experience taught her how to listen closely, build real relationships, and tell stories people are drawn to. She carries that same approach into her work today. Outside of representing Colin, she enjoys golf, supporting causes close to her heart, serving on the board of the Pasifika Music Foundation, and spending meaningful time with her mother, who is living with dementia and Parkinson’s.
